Mark's New Zealand Hunt

Myself and two mates shooting Huntsman Recurves flew into New Zealand's South Island Southern Alps for a 12 day bowhunt, targeting Tahr.

We struck some extreme weather in some of the most rugged country around but managed to come away with two good bull Tahr.

Both bulls were taken at close range, 12 - 15m with Huntsman recurves and Tusker Aztec broadheads.

Mine was a good Mature bull but was dwarfed by Buck Kimber's bull which was a real grand dad and though measured very roughly in camp it should come close to being New Zealand's new No 1 bow shot when officially measured.

We measured it roughly in camp at around 46 Douglas.
