Kimber (Huntsman Bows) |

I
have been a passionate hunter from a young age both privately and
professionally. I took up the bow again about 9 years ago and this
led to the Huntsman custom take down recurves.
I now live in S.E. Queensland where I bowhunt often and build the
Huntsman Bows.
When John asked me to put in words my thoughts on his bowhunting videos
I thought, no worries, that would be easy, I like them.
But thinking about it now, what I like about them is not so easy to
put in words.
How do you describe to someone who doesn't already know, what keeps
you in the bush... and why you are drawn back. |
Johns'
videos, particularly "Boars and Barramundi
in Outback Australia", go a long way towards saying what
words can't. He attempts to catch the essence of the hunt for those
of us that have been there, to reminisce and those that have not yet
been there to wish we could.
All up they are informative and entertaining, bowhunting and outdoor
videos.

Hi,
for those who don't know me, my name is Dave Pender and I have been
hunting with the bow and writing for Archery Action and Australian
Bowhunter Magazine for the last twenty five years. I have taken most
of our feral species of game, from rabbits to deer and scrub bull.
All with the ever reliable Davies Broadhead. As you can imagine I
also have my fair share of hunting videos, about fifty all up.

I purchased John Teitzels first video a few years ago and even though
the quality was not the best, the action was worth seeing. His second
video runs for approximately sixty minutes,"Backpack
Hunting for Hogs", was a vast improvement, with John and
Kim taking some good pigs from up close and personal. John is one
dedicated hunter who likes to get in close and put his arrow where
it counts. The action keeps you on the edge of your seat with some
action packed hunting. A must have for the bowhunting enthusiast.

His
third video - what can I say? - EXCELLENT QUALITY,
"Boars and Barramundi in Outback Australia" was shot
on a northern river in the Gulf of Carpentaria and I know how good
the hunting and fishing is up there, as I hunted those same river
areas myself. On this trip, John had a professional video technician
taking most of the footage and it definitely shows. There was a lot
of fishing for barra and some really good boars to fall to the six
hunters that make up the team. It was good to see, Alan Davies, the
original maker of Davies Broadheads on the trip.
Just for something different, there was some excitement catching crocodiles
by hand and being an old bass and mangrove jack fisherman myself,
the barra fishing was excellent.
In just three videos, John Teitzel has gone from amateur to professional.
A very enjoyable video. If you have never purchased a hunting video,
you must get "Boars
and Barramundi in Outback Australia",
as it is all about the trip that we all would love to take.

Hi
my name is Jon Matsen from Queensland Australia and I have been bowhunting
here for almost twenty years.
I like nothing more when I have some spare time (apart from Hunting
myself) to watch a great hunting video.
John Tietzel’s “Tusker Productions” has some great hunting video’s.
“Backpack Hunting For Hogs” shows some
terrific action, shot in Northern Australia soon after the tropical
wet season. Excellent large wild boars are shown being harvested with
both compound and recurve bows at very close range.
John’s latest video “Boars and Barramundi in
Outback Australia” features at team of intrepid canoeists travelling
down one of Northern Australia’s picturesque great rivers, chasing
wild boar and fishing for one of Australia’s prime freshwater sportfish,
the Barramundi.
There is some fantastic footage showing crocodile’s close quarters,
native wildlife and some large wild boards taken with recurve bows.
Plenty of action and great family viewing.
